At-Tawbah 9:77

فَأَعْقَبَهُمْ نِفَاقًا فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يَلْقَوْنَهُۥ بِمَآ أَخْلَفُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ 📿 Divine Name Allāh ٱللَّهُ The One True God, The Divine Essence Generate Calligraphy مَا وَعَدُوهُ وَبِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ

Fa-aʿqabahum nifāqan fī qulūbihim ilā yawmi yalqawnahu bimā akhlafū l-laha mā waʿadūhu wabimā kānū yakdhibūna

So He penalized them with hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day they will meet Him - because they failed Allāh in what they promised Him and because they [habitually] used to lie.
